Dental Crowns

  • A dental crown, commonly known as a cap, is primarily used for two reasons, either to protect the teeth or for cosmetic dentistry. Depending on why you need dental crowns, the cap can be made from different materials. The clinician can advise you on these materials.

Why do people need a Dental Crown?

  • It protects teeth weakened by decay and fractures.
  • It holds together parts of cracked teeth.
  • It protects the tooth that has undergone root canal therapy.
  • It restores worn-down teeth and broken teeth.
  • It can hide discoloured or oddly shaped teeth.
  • It protects teeth held together with only large fillings.
  • It helps hold a dental bridge in place.

Yandina Smiles has a team of highly skilled dental experts experienced in placing crowns. We also use a reputed laboratory to manufacture dental crowns and dental bridges.

Yandina Smiles has a simple process for dental crowns, which can be fitted in 2 visits.

What is the process of getting a Dental Crown?

  1. On the first visit, we’ll take X-rays of your tooth to see if it requires a dental crown.
  2. Our next step will be to reshape the tooth/teeth which may include placing a filling, and then we’ll take an impression.
  3. The impression will be sent to our trusted dental laboratory, where they’ll fabricate a new dental crown. Meanwhile, we’ll protect the area with a temporary dental cap or crown.
  4. On your second visit, we’ll remove the temporary dental cap and cement on the permanent dental crown in place.
